Lake View Hospital is licensed by the Minnesota Department of Health as a Critical Access Hospital. We are a wholly owned subsidiary corporation of St. Luke’s Hospital, Duluth, Minnesota.
Our wide range of services include acute hospital care, outpatient and emergency services, outpatient specialty clinic and assisted living services.
We operate a 25-bed hospital and 10-bed assisted living residence, Lake View Cottages.

For same day surgery, look no further than Lake View Memorial Hospital. Accredited physicians* perform outpatient procedures in the areas of Gastroenterology, OB/GYN, Podiatry and many General surgery procedures. Outpatient clinic services for Rheumatology, Ear, Nose and Throat, and Ophthalmology are also available.
*Specialists are independent contractors and not employees or agents of Lake View Hospital.
At Lake View Hospital, we contract with accredited physicians from around the region so that you can get the surgical care you need without having to travel far from home. We recognize that surgery can be a stressful time. We hope our comfortable, familiar surroundings will minimize that stress.
Surgery specialties include Gastroenterology, OB/GYN, Orthopedic, Ophthalmology and Podiatry. Doctors also perform General surgery.
For patients and their loved ones dealing with illness, disability, treatment or a stay at either Lake View Hospital or Cottages, we offer a variety of social services. Our Case Management department assists with coordinating care for patients during their stay at Lake View, and after they’re sent home. Our Social Workers coordinate with physicians, nurses, patients and families to find the best care solutions. We also can put you in touch with financial, legal, mental health and other community resources.
The Minnesota Board on Aging offers information and education to meet the needs of Minnesota’s older population, including a Health Care Directive form that you can adapt for yourself.
We serve nutritionally balanced meals to all patients, and accommodate those with special dietary needs. Our meal schedule is as follows:
Breakfast: 8 a.m.
Lunch: Noon
Dinner: 5 p.m.
Visitors are welcome to dine with patients. Guest trays may be ordered through a nurse. Cash payment is required when the meal is delivered.
Lake View Hospital’s nutrition staff also works with AEOA and Community Partners to provide Congregate Dining and Meals on Wheels to the Two Harbors community. Lake View Hospital’s Imaging Department is fully accredited by the American College of Radiology and the Minnesota Dept. of Health. All of our practices and procedures meet the rigorous standards of these accrediting agencies.
