Volunteer Opportunities
People of all ages who are looking to benefit their community can do so at Lake View Home. Our Activities Director is looking for volunteers to help out at the Cottages and Nursing Home. Volunteers willing to devote an hour or two every week are especially appreciated, but "stop-ins" who are able to lend a hand now and then are most welcome too.
Volunteering is a great way to meet others and make a difference in someone's life. All sorts of opportunities to help exist, depending on volunteers' interests and talents. For example, volunteers can assist with outings and escort residents to appointments, play cards and socialize with residents, share musical talents, or help out in the office.
We have over 30 active volunteers here at Lake View, with a variety of talents that they share with our residents and staff. Opportunities include assisting with activities and 1 to 1 interaction with people, including letter writing, visiting, card games, escorting to appointments or community events. Other areas include filing, reception, gardening, copying, passing refreshments, bingo, and crafts.
