Bone Density Testing
Lake View Memorial Hospital is proud to announce this new service for our community.
What is a Bone Density Test?
It is an exam that uses a very low dose of radiation to measure the density of your bones. If the bone density is low, then you have osteoporosis and have a very high risk of fracturing your bones. The exam only takes a few minutes and is painless.
Who is a candidate for this test?
All women age 65 and over, all men aged 70 and older, anyone with a fragility fracture, anyone with a disease, condition or medication associated with Osteoporosis and women who have been on hormonal treatment for prolonged periods; to name a few. If you feel you are a candidate for this test schedule a visit with your primary care physician and they can evaluate your medical information to see if you would be eligible for this test.
